Fish is a food of excellent nutritional value, providing high quality protein and a wide variety of vitamins and minerals, vitamins A and D, phosphorus, magnesium, selenium, and iodine in marine fish. Its protein is easily digestible. Fish oils in fatty fish are the richest source of a type of fat including omega 3 fatty acids that is vital to normal brain development and fundamental for the healthy functioning of the body. The high fat content it contains a range of fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E and K).
