Stuffed pepper in tomato sauce
The stuffed pepper is a traditional Hungarian summer dish.
They use the fresh peppers and tomatoes from the garden. It is a gluten free
main dish suitable for dinner party in this case a light fruity dessert should
follow it.
The dish contains about 550 kcal energy/person.
Ingredients for 4
persons
12 medium size
8 medium size
5 cloves

minced beef

pepper

Method:

Preparation;
o
Cube the tomatoes
o
Cut the end of the peppers, so you should be
able to stuff them.
o
Cook the rise in 2 cups of water.

Making the tomato sauce:
o
Pour into a big pot 2 tbsp of oil heat, add the
peppers trimmings and the tomatoes.
o
Add 3 cloves of chopped garlic salt and pepper.
o
Cook it for 10 minutes

Stuffing for the peppers
o
Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a pan and add the chopped
onion and the garlic cook until they are glazed
o
Add the meat and fried for 5-10 minutes stirring
it continuously.
o
Spread red pepper powder on the meat and add
salt and pepper to it. Leave it to cook for 20 more minutes.
o
In a big bowl mix the rice, the meat and the
egg.

Stuff the peppers and place them into the tomato
sauce and cook them at low heat approximately 50 minutes. Check the sauce regularly,
it cannot stick to the bottom of the pot, do not stir but shake it. (You do not want to break the peppers)

When you serve it you should spread fresh basil
on the top.
